Discovering Vietri: A Family's Journey

Authentically inspired, the Vietri story began when Lee Gravely and her daughters, Susan and Frances, took a family vacation along Italy's Amalfi Coast. There, they were captivated by the timeless elegance of hand-painted Italian dinnerware. These pieces were unlike anything they had ever seen before. The family and their closest friends loved them because of the incredible skill and attention to detail that went into making them. Every time they had a meal on these special plates, it made the dining experience feel even more special and luxurious.

Bringing Vietri to America

With newfound inspiration, Lee, Susan, and Frances decided to find who designed their beautiful plates. They successfully located the factory owner, Don Vincenzo Solimene, who showed them how skilled Italian artisans handcrafted, painted, glazed, and fired each piece. The exact look and style of these pieces had never been replicated in the United States, opening up new opportunities for them to offer truly inspired home decor.

To bring Vietri to the U.S., the Gravelys partnered with Mr. Solimene and hand-selected pieces they'd fallen in love with. This kicked off the Campagna collection, the foundation of the first-ever Vietri dinnerware line. The Gravely family felt really excited and inspired when they found something amazing while staying at a hotel. The plates on their dining table were hand-painted and looked incredibly beautiful. They were unlike anything they had ever seen before. The family and their closest friends really loved the plates because of the incredible skill and attention to detail that went into making them. Every time they had a meal on these special plates, it made the dining experience feel even more special and luxurious. Lee, Susan, and Frances decided to find the best designer of these beautiful plates, and they were successful in locating the owner of the factory that made these amazing pieces. When the Gravelys came back home, they told their friends and family about what they had found in Italy. While the Gravelys were still figuring out the expenses of running this business, like how much shipping would cost and where to buy boxes in large quantities, they were also out and about showcasing Mr. Solimene's handmade dinnerware. They personally demonstrated the high quality and beauty of each piece to people in different places.
